WHAT EXACTLY IS GOOGLE ONE?
Google One is essentially cloud storage with a number of cloud-based data management tools that are simple to combine with Google’s other services, including Gmail, Drive, and Photos. When you sign up for a Google account, you instantly obtain 15GB of free cloud storage with Google One; this was once a function of Google Drive. The storage space on Google One is shared by Drive, Gmail, and Photos, thus uploading files to any of these services will deplete the available space. In the case that your 15GB of free storage is used up or you want to use cloud backups, Google One also offers paid subscriptions for more storage.
BENEFITS OF USING GOOGLE ONE
- Access to “Google Experts”
Users get instant access to Google experts around-the-clock if they experience any issues with the app or any other service run by Google. The sole exception is one of Google Business’s products, such as Google Workspace (formerly G Suite), which has a separate support team.
- Family Storage.
Users of Google One can share a plan with an existing group or set up a family group to share their storage with up to five extra family members (six total, including the sharer).
As a Google One user, you may also grant your family access to Google Experts and Google One’s private VPN (more on this later).
Another advantage of family storage is that it prevents unwanted people from accessing your cloud-based data unless you share it yourself, even if the storage capacity is shared by numerous users.
- Access to VPN by Google One
Google One subscribers with 2TB or more of storage have access to the company’s own VPN, which, in Google’s words, “will encrypt all of your online activity for an additional layer of protection wherever you’re connected.”
You might not even need to download another software as the VPN in the Google One app might be activated with a single swipe.
- Android Back-Up Drive
With Google One, the difficult part of switching from one Android smartphone to another is gone. Android users may back up all of their phone data, including multimedia messages, pictures, videos, and device data, to the cloud using the Google One app.
Users may restore data from their backup to their new smartphone by either installing the Google One app after the device has started up and choosing the Restore from Your Backup option under Settings, or by selecting the Restore option during the Android setup process.
